Thank you for not snitchingSo I was going through and checking my messages earlier when I came across CrisVector's
Journal Entry about Photobucket and the problems that they've been having with art thief's ripping dA member's works. Now I know I'm not considered one of the premier artists of dA; hell, I haven't even topped 6k page views since I created this account in 2005, but just for a laugh I decided to do a "one-relic" search on Photobucket to see if anything of mine came up under an account that wasn't mine. Low and behold, I come to find that I'm the victim of an art thief... My
Rey Vector piece was ripped by
cblackle on Photobucket, and uploaded to his/her gallery (along with quite a few other dA member's works). I've got mixed feelings about this... On the one hand, I find it incredibly flattering that someone thought highly enough of my work to rip it and host it on Photobucket, but on the other hand I'm pretty pissed that someone decided to copy and relink my work without my permission. I'll probably end up filing a petition with Photobucket to have my art removed from his/her account and attempt to shut it down, but for now I'll bask in the off-hand glory that I'm special enough to be thieved.
That's just the tip of this icebergI've recently been 'actively' pursuing an idea that I've had since first working with
PaulW on the defunct
iDesign Magazine. I don't want to go into a lot of details about it at this moment, because I'm still trying to set up and put the right pieces in place for it, but I can assure you that more details about the project will come soon (

if you really want the early details).
I was told that there would be punch and pieAs I've been sitting at work the past couple of days listening to my 'net radio (
Radio.Wazee), I've heard a handful of songs that seemed to click in my head as something to listen to "When the resistance starts," why that theme came to mind is beyond me, but I decided to just run with it. Thinking about some of the songs, I decided to head to the friendly neighborhood YouTube to check out the videos for the songs. While I couldn't find the majority of them listed, at least two of the songs have music videos that follow in the same vein, showing the musicians as rebels to the establishment. I originally laughed at the thought of posting this stupid little musing, but then thought better of it, deciding instead to start a list; below is the beginning of that list.

Songs for The Resistance:

Club Foot - Kasabian

If you happen to come across any other songs or music that fit this theme, let me know. I'd love to not only add them to my list, but there's a special place on my iPod for 'The Resistance'. "Remember, Remember, the 5th of November."
Not all jokes are funnySo how about Heath Ledger's death? I may not have been a huge fan of his, and while I certainly haven't seen all of his film, I did enjoy the ones I have seen (he did an amazing job portraying Skip in
Lords of Dogtown and I have a guilty admission that I'm a big fan of
10 Things I Hate About You). It's certainly sad that he passed away and I'm not trying to take anything away from the career he had, but what a way to go out! He couldn't have done any better than to finish on top with Dark Knight being his final finished work. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then shame on you. To make amends for this outrage, you need to go and watch the
Dark Knight trailer right now... It's absolutely worth it.
Cleanup on Isle 5. We need a cleanup on Isle 5I know I always talk about cleaning up my gallery and starting to upload new things to it, and I guess you can say that I finally started that... I went through a week or two ago and finally organized my gallery based on some key terms and themes so it'll be easier to navigate if you view my gallery from now on.

As I said earlier in this journal, some things are coming down the pipe for me, and I'm really excited to talk about them once some things are more finalized. Stay tuned! Same Bat-time, Same Bat-channel.

Iron rusts from disuse; stagnant water loses its purity and in cold weather becomes frozen; even so does inaction sap the vigor of the mind.

Okay, so toast always falls butter-side-down, right? And cats always land on their feet. What happens if you slather a cat's back in butter and drop it off of a building, then?
