Inside My Mind (Blue Skies)

Man, it has been forever since I've taken the time to visit dA. I come here on a whim the other night, and find that I've got nearly 2k deviations and 600 messages to wade through... I would just clear everything and start fresh, but there's a reason that I watch most of the people I do, and I just can't pass up the opportunity to look at some quality art created by some quality artists.

Unemployment sucks... I got let go from my job about a month ago due to "economic cutbacks." Bullshit... it was a fucking tech support job. There's always people out there in the world who don't know how to properly work their hardware and need help to fix their mistakes. If there's two "career" areas that should survive the economic crisis without flinching, it would have to be the fast food and tech support markets. Oh well... I never liked the job anyway, and for some reason it always put an undue amount of stress on me, so I can't say that I miss it.

Being that I had nothing better to do, and with the economy in the shitter (and nobody wanting to hire me for any position, even for janitor), I decided that I was going to look at going back to school. I am currently enrolled in the Art Institute of Pittsburgh's Game Art and Design course online, and while it's definitely a little strange getting used to taking classes only online, I'm loving every minute of it, and am looking forward to my graduation with a Bachelor's degree in late 2010/early 2011.

Short of the lack of money and subsequent lack of video game purchases (I long for Mirror's Edge), I'm enjoying life right now and couldn't be happier that I'm in school again (even if it's still 2 years before I graduate).

Iron rusts from disuse; stagnant water loses its purity and in cold weather becomes frozen; even so does inaction sap the vigor of the mind.
